A 4-8 bowl team? (PS2)

In year 1 of my Arizona St. dynasty, Arizona got an at-large invitation to the New Orleans Bowl despite finishing 4-8, dead last in the Pac-10. The teams in 7th-9th place didn't receive a bowl bid.

UofA lost 5 straight to end the season including a 42-0 drubbing at the hands of my ASU team. They also were ranked 85th in total offense, so its not like they were even an entertaining 4-8 team.

This would be completely ridiculous even if it was a prestigious football team like Notre Dame or Ohio State.

Has anyone else seen something like this happen in your dynasty? I'm wondering if the CPU gives your rival preferential treatment in bowl selection just to get under your skin.

saw it happen in NCAA 06 occassionally. Not that bad thought. Usually it would only happen if there werent enough bowl eligible teams.
