Re: Top rated QBs for NCAA 2008

I fully expect Louisville to have two 80+ overall rated running backs:

George Stripling and Anthony Allen.

Last year they shared the backfield with Kolby Smith. My best estimate is that Stripling will be the starter and Allen will share carries. Stripling would probably be rated around 85 overall. Anthony Allen is a very big, powerful runner and is very similar to Mike Bush. I'll be able to give some more solid information after I watch Louisville's first official scrimmage this Thursday night and things should really be sorted out by the time I attend the Spring Game on Friday, April 20th.

I would also guess that Brock Bolen would be listed as a fullback on this years game and he'd be rated 85+, too.

Re: Top rated QBs for NCAA 2008

I think IU's Kellen Lewis will be higher than an 82 (more like an 84 or 85) and I think Kent's Julian Edelman will be around an 80-82. I can say from watching the games that he's better than Toledo's Cochran

Problem is, most people can't come up with a list past 25, and that's pushing it. Who's seen all of these guys play? Mel Kiper? Essentially you have to just go off of stats and magazine hype.

Agreed, which is why I won't weigh in on anyone outside the Big 12 and a few area schools.

Majority of the Big 12 schools is a lil drastic:

OU-No, Bradford is better
UT-No, McCoy
Neb-No, Keller
Tech-No, Harrell
A&M-No, McGee
ISU-Probably
Mizzou-No, Daniel
Ok State-He starts there but as I said, I believe OSU would be better with Z Rob
Colo-Probably
KU-Probably
K State-Probably
Baylore-Probably

So counting OSU its 6. I wouldnt count OSU, so it would be 5. Thats far from majority my friend. But I digress...

He had Patrick at an 85 I think. I would put him at the top tier 80 if not 90 level. He fumbles too much and hes not my favorite back (See Chris Brown, Demarco Murray, Mossis Madu) but so far he is the best of the bunch so he should be ranked as such.
I totally agree on Robinson. If he got as many snaps in practice, he would have been starting by conference. Robinson is a much better QB for the system. On the other hand, Reid has progressed a ton in two years.

I think people are a little too high on Keller, and while I think Chase Daniel is a big stud, he seems to be his own worst enemy on the field. I'll give you Harrell only because of Leach's system.

I am not sold on anyone OU plans to throw out there. If the OL plays up to their ability, Patrick should have a real good year and you or I could play QB and be successful.

Royce, sorry if you think we hijacked your thread. I am still interested in everyone's analyses.

Re: Top rated QBs for NCAA 2008

I would add Emmanuel Moody in place of Stafon Johnson. Stafon is most likely going to play another position and Moody is probably better anyway. Joe McKnight and Marc Tyler probably belong on the list too.
