Stop giving EA ideas...they'll Make World of NCAA where they incorporate the debauchery of campus life and every so often the clan you join will gather to play a game of pick up football after you watch 2 cybergeeks get married in a park.

Only elite World of NCAA players will make the actual college team. That is the geeks with no jobs that play the game all day long. Of course you could always purchase the starting quaretback character on Ebay for $942.

Re: Is it time for EA to make 2 types of College Football?

This thread is amusing to me because I have been screaming for the same thing for years. As a matter of fact, I posted a thread on how EA should out out two pro football games, one for those who wanted to be virtual GMS and one for those who want to recreate what they see on Sundays (for gamers like myself). I was practically cursed out by various members of the Operation Sports forum mafia. Lo and behold, did they not come out with NFL Head Coach. Unfortunately, they still have a screwed up pro football game.

As for the college game, if the only thing they do for NCAA 2008 (360 version) is improve the defensive AI in order to force realistic online gaming, I will be happy.

By the way, the thread was called:

A solution to the Hardcore vs Casual gamer debate..

You're joking right? There hasn't been a console game made that's truly X's and O's accurate anyway.

They will never make a truly accurate X & O's football game, there are just too many factors and they don't make the plays complex enough or enough of them in the playbooks. But what I really strive for is realistic stats. I try to get the number of plays and average yards per play to stack up reasonably with NCAA averages.

You can't get that in NCAA because the long ball and defensive back AI need to be fixed. The short passing game is more dangerous than throwing bombs. Now the kicking engine is all out of whack. And with Boise State on the cover, I would expect a gimmick fest extrodinaire, that will make it even harder to get realistic averages in scores, yards per play, etc. Oh well, I think I may be getting too old for video games, its an exercise in frustration. I may just go old school and grab my dice and the strat-o-matic board and immerse myself in statistic glory this football season.
