Rosters online work with names?

Just curious...

IIRC, they didn't work last year, right? If that truly was the case, what is the chance of them working this year?

I can easily see this as being another thing that will annoy many once this game releases that does not get fixed from the prior year.

I have been harassing people in the so-called loop to give me any information regarding this topic-- and mum is the word.

No one has been able to relay any information confirming if we will be able to use rosters during online games and the silence seems to indicate that this problem isn't being addressed. Of course, I could be wrong. But if online rosters isn't on the to-do list of the guys at EA then it will be an oversight again this year.

I just don't understand how people on the PS2 and XBox can continue to use rosters online while the next-gen gamers are ignored. I was told last year that online rosters was an oversight. That made playing NCAA '07 on the 360 miserable online for me... I don't play dynasty mode. I enjoy the competition of a real-life opponent. The chess-match of making adjustments. Without names the game was lifeless to me.

I also heard a lot of griping about stat-keeping for online leagues. People just don't recognize players by number. They want to see and experience the names of the players.

I also haven't heard too much belly-aching about missing rosters online...

Well that sucks. I appreciate you sharing the knowledge... but I really hope this gets addressed. I'd like to play the game online this year (I didn't last) and without real rosters I feel the same way you do: The game would feel very lifeless.

I also want to include this which I dug up here at OperationSports...

Last year we were given this bogus explanation detailing why the online rosters were no permitted:



The problem was that the 360 version is reportedly sending e-mail stats and the individual player names are appearing within the stats. But here is the trade-off.... We may have named players online but there will be no email statistics.

Of course, there was never an e-mail that sent individual statistics. But this was EA's initial response and they never resolved to fixing the problem.

Just make sure that the devs are asked this question on community day I was kool with it last year but I will blow a top if I can't use names online this year. It would be really f*cked up if it happened two years in a row. So I will keep my fingers crossed on this one.

u guys r worried about rosters when playing online? im just plain worried about rosters even on the game.. we r still screwed after the update right?

No, we can still swap rosters for the 360... but whoever creates the file first is running the risk of having their 360 "blacklisted" in a future update.

But that will all be avoided if the roster maker can keep their rosters off of 360gamesaves.com

Of course, that is easier said than done. Anybody can upload the rosters on that site.
