college hoops is a great fracnhise, and the dynasty does some great stuff. However, the recruiting we are gonna see in NCAA just destroys anything that hoops does. I actually outlined a similar system for that game a few months ago in a post over on that board......

IMO, the issue is that there is no way to personalize contact, so the impact of phone calls, emails and visits seems way too random. I think i should be able to go to a kid's house and tell him "You will start next year" and if early PT is a top concern, i should get a huge boost. But at the same time, if i already have 3 players at his position, I should get an email saying "sorry, coach, i just dont see myself getting on the court next year at your school" and i should drop off his list.
Just brainstorming here, but i think recruiting needs to be revamped. I think you should be able to "pitch" things to recruits such as......
1) program tradition/history
2) available Playing time
3) history of producing pro prospects
4) facilities
5) location of campus
6) education
7) playing style
8) coach reputation
and then you should be able to promise things to players. examples...
1) you'll be a solid rotation guy by your soph year
2) you'll start as a freshman
3) We wont recruit behind you for 2 years
4) you'll be the focal point of our offense by your junior year
5) we'll make a final 4 before your senior year
ect, ect. If you make a promise to a player, and it doesnt happen, the player becomes unhappy and some sort of overall "coach reputation" rating should take a hit. A lower rating means more dificulty recruiting in the future and a hit to performance of your team (because who wants to play for someone they dont trust)
