Re: Lob/touch passes???

I think lobs/bullets are pressure sensitive now. In the past it was based on how long you held the button. If this is true then it means you can lightly hold the button and still throw a lob or quickly mash the button and throw a bullet. Basically it's the amount of time your thumb is on the button has no influence on the type of throw, it's the pressure that matters.

Re: Lob/touch passes???

Just tap the button of whom you'd like to throw it to and do not lead them with precision passing.

Re: Lob/touch passes???

I usually don't have any trouble throwing lobs as long as I'm concentrating on not throwing a bullet. I think it's easy to get too caught up in what's happening on the field and accidently throw it harder than you really wanted to.

Interesting...anyone else confirm this? That might make sense because if just hold it for a sec i'm still throwing bullets. I'll test it out this afternoon

Re: Lob/touch passes???

I had this exact conversation with fishepa last night. So I ran an entire demo of nothing but deep passes, fades, and corner routes.

You CAN lob it...but what you do is you lead the WR and very gently "tap" the button.

I had roughly a 20-25% success rate on deep passes over 40 yards using this method with a DB covering.

Re: Lob/touch passes???

I ran my own test, and I finally figured out that you have to literally just TAP it as fast as you can to throw a lob. If you put ANY pressure at all on the button it will be a bullet. I was 100% successful (meaning every pass was a lob) using this method on DEEP balls, however, it seems like post routes are a bit tougher to throw lobs to, but to be honest, the only passes I ever throw lobs to are fly routes and any post routes where the WR is behind a LB and I want to throw it over his head. Like I said, I was 100% successful by just TAPPING, and when I say tap, I mean very lightly pushing the button down as fast as you can. Worked every time, even when on the run.

It's a lot harder to throw lob passes and I'm not sure why EA changed this, but I do know that it can be successfull 100% of the time if you just practice. Go into the demo and see for yourself.

So does it matter if you pound it but real quickly?

Wow, that just didn't come out right...

Hell yes it matters. Sorry, couldn't resist lol

It's real easy once you get the hang of it....just tap the button real quick, don't keep holding it down.

I also had success when going deep with the lob pass, all I did was push up on the stick, then quickly tap the button.

The passing game does feel different this year (imo) but I feel it's a good different.
