Does anyone know what exactly the 'work around' is?

I know prior to the spring update 'person A' could create a generic 'player 1' profile, save the roster and their profile...upload them to the internet. 'person b' would download both files, start game load profile/roster. pain in the *** but it worked. spring update killed that method though.

I have a hard time believing that EA is behind this since they have voice files for the names of the players in the game. It's not like they just say Smith and Jones, last year they said Samardzija, not exactly a common name.
I don't really care anyway since I use the auto-name and then edit the top 25-30 per position nationally plus all of the players on the teams I use and other notables in the conferences I play in.

They dont have a problem with people naming the files thats why the left the voice files in. They have with people selling their roster on the internet and on ebay

I dont know but according to FK the workaround works. He's transfered his file to several different users.

Can someone please test sending roster files from one ps3 to another so we can end this mindless discussion. TY.

Re: The Future of Roster Sharing...

If this is a MS and not a EA thing then I will trade/sell whatever my 360 and acquire a PS3 I'm a 29 year old man with 3 kids my time on the stick is very limited not to mention I only play sports games mainly NCAA, Live, and 2K.To have to chase around rosters would be a big blow to not only my time on the stick but but takes to realism out of it for me. Yes I know i could do them myself and yadda yadda but Ive given contributions when i could to people who put in time and effort for me to enjoy the games. So if MS is behind this consider my 360 sold

Re: The Future of Roster Sharing...

I hate to bring this up. Does anyone smell micro-transactions to have names in future NCAA games (basketball and football). I really hope not, but maybe it's seen as an untapped market.

I registered my copy of NCAA 07 and I remember filling out an EA survey a year ago. I'm sure one of the questions was "are you willing to pay a small fee for named players". Did anyone else fill out this survey? (just so people know I'm not pulling this out of thin air)

With alternate jerseys and classic stadiums going that way of "pay to play", I just wouldn't be suprised. I'm one who just won't pay.
