No 1080i for the PS3 :(

I agree. You'd have to have an IMAX screen in your home theater to describe 720p graphics as "terrible".

On another note, since NCAA on PS3 only does 30fps, I suppose 1080i would theoretically look exactly the same as 1080p.

Just to be clear, in no way are 720p and 1080i pretty much the same thing. 1080 is way more lines of resolution and an interlaced picture. 720 is less lines of resolution and a progressive picture.

You would notice a difference on a good TV.

the ps3 runs @ 1080i on my tv, you have to either tell it to auto sense, or set it manually in the display settings i think. do you have it online to get the latest update? i use the HDMI cable, (sold separately of course) then that may help.. if you use the cables out the box its only SD.

I went to the game store yesterday to buy this game ran home and immediatly put the game in. What I saw really dissappointed me. The graphics were terrible. I later found out that this game only supports 480 and 720. I own a HD TV and without 1080i this game just does not have the visuals expected from a next-gen game.
What surprises me is that no one on this forum is talking about it! Does everyone here know something I don't? Is there talk of a upgrade to 1080i for the PS3. Let me know Operation Sports Nation how you feel. Thanks.
