Re: All-American Difficulty question

a thread that addresses my two biggest problems- an awful passing game & no pass rush. i had a decent day yesterday & won all my games, albeit in the last seconds on field goals. today, i've been getting torched by opposing qbs and/or throwing a pick-6 or two every game. i can't throw into a zone to save my life, especially when the cpu doesn't blitz. guess i've just gotta get better.

Re: All-American Difficulty question

to update my progress: Bowling Green must just be terrible. I just finished beating them 42-17. Here is how they scored:

1. Field goal from a fumbled putt return (they lost yardage on the drive)
2. Interception returned 60 yards for a touchdown
3. Fumble recovery returned 50 yards for a touchdown

I had over 400 yards of offense and Bowling Green had 140. Of course a linebacker made a superhero pick and returned it for a touchdown and a tackle stood me up when I received a hand-off and caused a fumble. I'll eventually learn to stop throwing those passes and I will eventually learn to cover up the ball and hopefully these problems will be gone. Maybe its just Bowling Green but in this game I switched to a 4-3 Under and brought a LB up to the line. I was able to get some pressure and even though I only had one sack, I had plenty of hurries. Minus a few mistakes, it was the best game I have played and I should have won 56-3. I now fully expect to get blown out by someone like Kentucky in the next game.

Re: All-American Difficulty question

Well, to be blunt: forget about default. Slider tweaks, for better or for worse, have become part of sports gaming. This makes for the early days with a game kinda hit or miss (exactly what's been described), but later on, once you find or create a quality slider set, things will all come into form and you'll never have these complaints again.

My advice: for now, just practice. That is, set the game up so that you're pretty much guaranteed to win (e.g. AA with some user-friendly mods), and go from there. Eventually, you'll pick up what aspects of the game are too easy and which are too hard, and you can tweak the sliders accordingly.

But forget about default. The last game that didn't need slider tweaks ... didn't have sliders.
