Are you guys using the passing cone??

Well, are ya?...LOL. Seriously, since it's introduction into EA's football games, I've been using it and have actually grown relatively proficient with the "click" method--I stink at the RS method. I've read a lot of cats are frustrated with their passes being bullet passes and not being able to put the desired "touch" on their passes. Maybe it's the THC remnants in my system (psych...maybe...LOL), but I feel like when using the passing cone, I'm able to throw whatever type of pass I need to given the game situation (ie., floater to the HB on a screen play with the DE bearing down, mid-arching pass to my TE running a square-in route behind the LBs, etc.). Do you guys think that the passing cone system offers the user some sort of "bonus" for using it? What do you guys think? I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.

I don't know but if it allows you to make diff. types of passes besides bullets and super lobs, i'm in!!!

I actually like the cone, I would say it helps, I just feel more accurate when I use it. Mostly on out routes, I seem to hit my Wr's in stride when I use the cone, and also on corner routes. I have recently been trying to use it on post patterns and it has worked rather well. Also on crossing routes I think it works great because once again it helps me get YAC.

I hated the cone and everything about it.

I used it that one year in Madden, but it seems too hard to use this year unless you lock on to someone.

Yeah, I used it that one year in Madden also. I always used the lock-on method in Madden. I haven't tried it on NCAA. But I was kicking *** in online play until I played against one guy with USC who used the passing cone, he was just unstoppable, shredded me for like 450 yards passing and was constantly completing passes against tight coverage. I figure there might be something to it. And like some have said in this thread, if it means being able to throw something other than bullets and super-lobs, I'm in!!! But I can't see why the passing cone should affect the touch??
