Momentum = Freaking Ridiculous

I'm sorry to start yet another thread of complaining, but I have to share this.

First, let me ask a question: Is EA aware that their stupid gimmicks are ruining what would otherwise be a decent game?

Anyway, so I start up a fresh Dynasty after constructing what seems to be a nice Heisman slider set. First game, I play North Texas and win 24-10. Check. Second game, I play Oregon and win 17-14. Check.

Third game, Notre Dame: I lose 58-7. Hmm.

Fourth game, Penn State: I win, 72-0. Um ... okay.

Same sliders, mind you.

Honestly ... WTF is going on?

You had an offday and a great day.

But yeah, Momentum is insane. It was worse in '07 though.. by far.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing; I was certainly more focused and determined in the PSU game (coming off the loss) than I was in the ND game. But, still, it's really hard to put the game back in now that those are the results of my last two games. Sliders? I mean, what's to tweak? I can't say they're too hard coming off a 72-0 win, and I can't exactly say they're too easy when I lost a game 58-7.

I'm just really confused now.

Have you checked your difficulty level? I only ask because i made some slider adjustemtns the other day and for some reason the game automatically defaulted the difficulty to Varsity. I only noticed because I blew out Michigan State with Indiana 77-0. I knew something was amiss so I checked the settings and sure enough.......game changed my difficulty to Varsity while my slider adjustments remained intact.

While your examples are a bit extreme (being two different games and all) I generally LIKE the momentum in game. It's the old adage of "when it rains, it pours". It happens all the time in football, from pee-wee on up.

Same thing happened to me once. All of sudden I was blowing everyone out, and I checked and my difficulty had went from all-american to varsity.

I hate momentum. I wish I could turn it off. I just had a game againt Arizona State as San Diego State where I kicked a FG to go ahead 10-7 late in the 3rd. After that ASU sucked - I ended up winning 31-7, and it should have been 38-7, but when I returned an INT, fumbled at their 1 yard line.
