Please help me out on defense

yeah engage eight is the worst defense ever.
it barely even works against the run lol.

but its really really nothing you can do to stop the pass except get pressure on the qb.
the qbs are too accurate in this game so if you run a zone, they will throw it into the open spot.
if you run man, you have a better chance.

i usually run a 3-3-5, nickel or dime. man coverage.

If I know the run is coming, I use 4-4, although I've been playing with Penn State and it helps to have those LB's.

Guess I didn't understand this thread. I thought we were talking about shutting down a "I know they are gonna run" play. The engage eight works fine in the situation(for me). But that is just for a willing to bet the house they'll run formation. Yeah,I take chances at times and sometimes it works,and other times..........game over

I think I ran that play once about 5 years ago, got burned on a long TD pass and have never run that play again. Way too risky against a potential pass. I wouldn't suggest anyone to use it.

I've used it with success, and I've used it and got burned ..... like any blitz package, you must be careful and use it sparingly.

Exactly-being a Steelers fan also you know the blitz is a lethal weapon when used correctlyAgreed about using it sparingly.
