I got my invite to the Big 12..Now I'm getting spanked.

So I carried SMU to a BCS bid in Year 3 and a bid from the Big 12 to replace Baylor.

After the euphoria wore off, I then realized I am now in the Big 12 South, land of Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M (who unlike in real life, doesn't underachieve and gets sick talent).

Granted..I'm slowly improving the talent level of SMU...got lots of talented Frosh and Sophs, but I'm still basically mid to high 70s across the board.

Texas, OU, and A&M are LOADED. All 3 of them are As across the board. I'm currently 4-2, but I'm 1-2 in the Big 12 with losses to Kansas State and Texas and a win over Colorado on the road. Texas almost seemed like they "toyed" with me...as I had a 17-7 lead at halftime.

They proceeded to stuff me on 3 plays in the second half, march down the field score a TD, stuff me, score a TD, stuff me..you get the idea. I ended up losing 35-17.

I have a feeling my rapid rise up the "star ladder" ...I'm a 4 star program now...is fixing to take a halt for a few seasons until I can get a few more top 20 recruiting classes in.

Regardless of the bugs...this game still owns me.

I didn't want that to happen to me while I was playing with FIU.
I owned everybody in the Sun-Belt and got an offer from the ACC to replace Duke year 3.
Year 3 I didn't have enough talent to compete with the ACC teams.
So I declined the invitation and a couple years later, when my team was still owning the Sun-Belt, but with a much better roster, I got an invite to the ACC again....
And started owning them as well.

The Big 12 is tough. Even as 6 star at A&M I had a tough time in it. I have almost been beaten by every team I had to play in it. Kansas took my to the wire, Oklahoma State did as well. I think the only cupcake was Baylor.
