I thought NCAA '08 post-patch played a great game of football. Granted, I only had limited access to it as I don't own a 360 and was playing in a "league" with friends.

FIFA and NHL are pretty damn good.

NCAA, Madden, Live, and March Madness aren't nearly as good though, which is a shame.

NHL 08 is excellent, far superior to 2k8. EA absolutely stinks in basketball, it's been schooled by 2k for years in that sport. And the only major issues I have with its football titles are they have become game-killing turnover-fests. And before all the apologists go nuts, in playing a football video game you shouldn't have to work like a madman to come up with the right set of sliders and combinations of buttom pushing (protect the ball button, blah, blah, blah) and whatever else to avoid a constant slew of four-fumble, four-INT games.

I honestly think that the people who think that NCAA 08 for the 360 was even a decent game haven't played the PS2 version in a while. The PS2 version was superior in nearly every aspect except that the pursuit angles were busted and auto FG's ruined the game. The problem is, even in 2009 we're still not getting all the features that were on the PS2 version. This game is still probably 3 or 4 years away from where it needs to be on the 360/PS3.

I don't even care about the new features. All I care about is them hopefully dumbing down the LB AI as it was the most frustrating thing I've seen. You had to make sure a LB was no where near your receiver bc if they were they'd instantaneously make a play for the ball no matter how out of position they were. I'd throw an INT, go back and watch the replay, laugh and then turn off my 360..
