I don't "defend" the game to the point where I wear rose colored glasses and refuse to point out any flaws. I know that you weren't speaking of my personally Pared, but I am one of the "people" that seemingly "defends" the game, and I guess I do.

If you read what most "supporters" of the series post, you will find them mentioning the negative aspects of the game. People aren't making excuses or trying to cover up the flaws, they are just playing the game for what it is.

Somewhere along the way, people have gotten it in their heads that NFL 2K was without flaws, that it was perfect, thus they feel the need to point out every little bug/glitch that is present in the latest installment of an EA football title.

I personally feel EA hasn't embraced the football gaming community completely. The game, even in its current state, would get a lot less heat from the NFL 2kx-ers if they simply spiced up the game and made it fun.

EA has the potential to do it. NHL08 is a freakin' blast.

I can see them incorporating some things slowly in, gameplay-wise... like the running... they just need to put some more effort into a broadcast style presentation of the sport and be done with it. They can easily cover up most of the game's issues with the proper presentation of the game...

I'm speaking about the positives of the game, that's what this thread is for. Defending it is entirely different. The only way one could say me or anyone else is defending it is if it has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. And I doubt many feel that extremely. And honestly, if they do I don't see why they are wasting their time in the NCAA forum.

It's kind of hard to not take this thread as a "defense" thread when you word it exactly as the other thread where people are being negative.

If anything, it's going to cause issues with those posting in the "Don't fall for the HYPE!!!" thread. Whether that was the intention or not...

I think people can't focus on the positives of the game with some sort of negative optimism. What's this I read about roster sharing? Is it going to be like 2k share on college hoops?

Sorry, I'm not following the bullet point PR releases as my expectations aren't that high for this game anymore... as much as they've improved the gameplay, until they spice up the presentation the game feels... "bland" or too "vanilla..."

This thread is simply the yang to the ying. I didn't start it to defend the game anymore than the hype thread was meant to simply attack the game. That thread is saying to not get excited about the game due to hype. This thread is simply saying that there are reasons to get excited, for some of us anyways.

I agree 100%. I like NCAA and yet realize there are some major issues with the game. The CPU QB AI is clearly one of them (much like it was with 2K5) and the DL play is another (no end rush or true pocket formed - done much better by 2K4/2K5). However much like you said, the people that still hate the license deal come out and these arguments always end in a 2K vs. EA flame war to a degree.

Well for me and many others its the fact they got the NFL, NCAA Football, AND The Arena Football league licenses, lol. I mean it was obvious what they were doing. If it was just an NFL move I'd respect it, but they went all out.

I've just been trying to make the best out of it and hoping they make football games that make me forget the 2k series. This is yet to happen. Hopefully NCAA 09 can fade my memories a little more. I'm really looking forward to every tidbit of info we get on this game.
