Yeah, I got mine new on e-bay for $100 cheaper about a year after the release of the console. Best money I have ever spent.

The PS3 is built much better than its predecessor. If there's a console to be concerned about in terms of reliability this generation, its the Xbox 360.

I've had one in over a year's worth of heavy use.

Also, blu-rays have this groovy protection coat on them; it's almost as though they can't be scratched unless you're really negligent. I bought two used PS3 games today, for example, and neither one of them had as much as a finger print on them - might as well have been new.

from what research ive done they(all blu-rays) are suppose to be scratch resisitant.
