The D pad only has two values , true and false, stop and go. There is no fine movement like with analog. You can either go full speed or not at all. So all of you who can use the D pad without a problem, props to you.

I am also prehistoric. I grew up with the Nintendo and have never made the switch from the d-pad. I must say, though, that after playing GTA4 the analog may be growing on me. Maybe I will try playing NCAA with it.
