360 Roster Edit Workaround

Ok guys, I have played with this for the last 6 hours.

I actually went through and removed all the extra characters out of PastaPadre's file (4+hours).

I STILL had the missing teams.

So, I started again.

I am not going to invest the time to do all of this, but here is my idea:

Base of Pasta's files:

1) Edit offline - Just to be safe.
2) Start backwards (Work from W->A)
3) Edit out all punctuation from First and Last Name.
4) Remove anything over 11 characters in either name.
5) Save the file
6) Rinse and repeat for all 120 teams.

I did this for all of the 'W' teams (and FIU), and I have yet to be able to make them go poof. I also have not gotten any lockups from this.

My logic for each move:

1) I am not really sure #1 does anything, but better safe than sorry.

2) If you work backwards, my theory is the game re-allocates memory for the file, so the teams aren't pushed out.

3) This characters obviously break things (See FIU and broken attributes)

4) This is the key, IMO. Since I removed EVERY one of the characters in #3 today, the punctuation isn't the only culprit.

5) Save to test. It is WAY too time consuming to do it all, hoping you don't screw up.

If anyone is bored enough to test this, I would be interested to see the results. I just don't feel like giving up anymore of my life to fix this.=)

I think Pasta's file could possibly be permanently corrupt for whatever reason. FK is starting fresh without using Pasta's file as a base. We will see if this issue is just with one corrupt file, or with roster editing in general. Hopefully FK reports in sometime tomorrow with good news.

I don't think Padre's file is corrupt..the theory I have been hearing alot is that it's the EA locker that is corrupt. But like what OMT said is that Padre's roster is never gunna be editable without it messing up or freezing the game.

Padre's file did have illegal characters, but CDJ's did not and his also caused these issues. It may very well be an EA Locker issue. We will know for sure when FK completes his file (at least for 360 owners).

i don't see what's wrong with the rosters they work fine for me.
