I'm addicted to the Hit Stick

I think that the hit stick has been one of the nicer features of ncaa and madden since implemented in 2005. Now over the years, this has grown into an automatic habit for me.I guess this is just another reason why I love playin defense so much: landing big hits, grabbin picks, & stuffin the quarterbacks.

Like I said before, it's like I'm automatically programmed to make a big hit everytime I have a shot at a tackle. I just love it. The cpu runs a slant in the Ace formation, my whole defense slides to the right side of the field. I switch to my strong safety & BAMMM!, user big hit at the bottom right corner of my screen. I jump from my seat and shout "WOOO!". It's just too satisfying to see that running back or anybody else who comes across me after the play look dazed and confused and rock from side to side.

I love it, man. That classic "where am I" look.

I've had trouble using it in NCAA 09. Do you have to push the R-stick up or can you still push it any direction?

Up for high tackle. Down for low tackle.

I don't think it it necessarily like that. I press it down almost exclusively and hit the ball carrier high and low.

I think that's right, in my experience any direction works and isn't high/low specific.

I feel like it usually aims the hit in the direction I push, but sometimes it doesn't based on where the players are when they make contact.

the only complaint i have about the stick is there is no reach tackle. i love the way apf has it. it helps stop draw plays cause you can actually get off d line blocks.
