I need to make a decision today... Madden or NCAA

I love franchise/dynasty and would like to know a few pros and cons to each.

From others it seems there are Robo QBs in madden and stupid qbs in NCAA

I just want a realistic franchise/dynasty with decent recruiting/drafting from by the cpu. Oh and I want the teams to play how they are designed...

example if team A has QB with a 90Speed.... they should run the option more (ala WV) but if your qb has a speed of 50 he should probably never run it.


I know this forum will be partial, but I am just a guy wanting a football game. (the best one available)

Neither has changed on either game (Franchise/Dynasty)

I rented Madden for 6 days and returned it in 2.

I own NCAA and LOVE IT.

The Dynasty isn't very different than last years version. The field looks great, the player models are great (although better in Madden).

However, this year Madden looks prettier and a lot of gameplay has been 'fixed'. NOTHING has changed in Madden's Franchise mode. And progression is broken if you edit rosters in any way.

I would have said NCAA 2 weeks ago... and now after patch #2...

NCAA is the best football game of 09.

Seriously, though, they are both great games IMHO. And the CE version of Madden 09' is just sick, addicting fun with this year's Head Coach 09' added!

Honestly, I am not all that blown away with the 360/ps3 Madden. I'm thinking of trading it in for headcoach.

The game just feels so..listless. I find it shockingly boring.

NCAA I really feel like I am IN a football stadium.

If I could only get 1 and only 1...gun to my head, I'd choose NCAA

Post-patch #2 NCAA is a great game to me. I have both but have only played 1 game on madden. It was not that bad with the new my skill addition. I didn't buy madden last year and this year I got it free with credit card point (The way to go because I pay my balance off at the end of the month so they make no money off of me making the game 100% free). If you have to pick one get NCAA and download the patch and get some good rosters.

I have bought madden every year since 99 and same this year. But after a week I sold it on craigslist. Compared to Ncaa it is so boring. I like the sub system for packages but that's about it. Really disappointing. Go with Ncaa.

well let me tell you...i traded up to get the collectors edition with head coach and what i thought was going to be pretty good actually isn't. head coachs graphics make it so unbearable for me. i can not belive that last year madden 08 looked like this...it just boggles my mind

Your on a NCAA board so your going to get more positives on that here. I personally give the slight edge to Madden, although i feel the replay value is higher on NCAA (online dynasty option, more teams, better presenation/feel). I do think Madden plays better even after NCAA patch 2 and still should see a patch of their own still. You really should be OK with either.

I would agree on head coach- i feel like i wasted 30 bucks for the collectors edition.
