Re: rankings

00. Notre Dame (because ESPN always hypes them ... hehe... j/k)
01. Florida (Because they are 100% in tact and nasty on defense)
02. Texas (Pretty solid keep over, front guys might need work)
03. USC (Because they always start high)
04. Virginia Tech (Defense is solid, Taylor a question)
05. Alabama (Just a solid team. Defense returns pretty solid, more depth, replace Smith with Fluker and remain solid all around)
06. Oklahoma (Lose a lot of talent right?)
07. Ohio State (Always ranked too high and will dominate Big 10, Pryor should be better)
08. Ole Miss (Defense. Snead. 'Nuff said)
09. LSU (QB question marks, LB depth is in trouble)
10. Oklahoma State (Pathetic defense might not allow the offense to keep them in games)

Sounds about right. 15-18.

They are a talented team and will miss Knowshaun and Stafford, but they have capable backups. I think UGA *COULD* surprise people. They would have been a top team this year had they not had so much offensive line/defensive line injury.

I assume you mean LSU. They'll be good. They've had a lot of talented classes and have a lot of depth.

Their biggest weakness is Coach Less Milage.

I'd put Iowa in the pre-season. They've got a stout defense and a solid offensive line. Put any back behind a good line and he'll perform.

I agree. They might be the best of the Big 12 north, but they have a lot of turnover at LB this year ... and that's going to hurt. A lot.

Michigan State

Washington
Southern Cal
Boston College
vs. Washington State (San Antonio)
Navy
@ Pittsburgh
Connecticut
@ Stanford

Anybody on this board could coach Notre Dame to 9 wins with that schedule next year.
I've seen worse schedules. No 1-AA teams, 10 teams from BCS conferences, 7 teams that had winning records last year, lots of rivalry games and any team that has USC on their schedule deserves a bit of respect.

Plus, Notre Dame gets everyone's best effort because they are Notre Dame (not saying that means anything here).

In or around 25 sounds about right.

You shouldn't base their ranking based on their schedule. It should be based on the product they are going to be putting on the field.

You're right, and I wasn't.

I was simply saying their schedule isn't as weak as being made out.

Outside of the top 10 and the bottom 10, the rankings could go either way. They are returning enough starters to at least make some noise.

To say they are the 25th best team isn't that much of a stretch.

Re: rankings

Washington and Washington State are BCS teams in name only. They've got the 7th, 9th and 10th place PAC 10 teams, 9th and 10th place Big 10 teams, and a team from the Big East with a losing record. Pittsburgh couldn't even score with McCoy in the Sun Bowl, I fear for their offense without him. Hard to say if Boston College will amount to anything. Michigan State loses their one man offense. So they'll probably be a middle of the road at best team. That's an easy schedule. Yeah, there have been worse, coughcough2007Hawaiicoughcough. But this is a free 9 win season and a BCS bowl if Charlie's competent.
