Conference Prestege Change

Lets say we bring the biggest teams from around the nation into a Non BCS conference. Shouldn't the game progress and make that conference elite? Shouldn't the conference be placed in the BCS with an automatic bid?

Conference prestige does change over time in the game, doesn't it? I think it does but I'm not sure. If it does, it's probably a slow change, not a one-time major change like your proposed scenario.

The real BCS system doesn't have a system in place for changing which conferences are the BCS ones. It's not in the game, so it's not in the game.

Re: Conference Prestege Change

Conference Prestige does change. I started one with Navy, and I had Elite Conference Prestige in the 1st year, and then in Season 2, it was Sub-Par basically every time.

The real BCS system DOES have a system in place for changing which conferences get automatic bids. The ACC was in slight danger of having their automatic bid reviewed a couple years ago. If your BCS representative over any 4 year period has an average ranking below 16, you can in theory have your spot taken away. Also, since the Mountain West has been asking for an automatic spot, there is a very complicated rule about the overall average ranking of a conference to make them eligible. It's possible, just hasn't happened, but it's possible. This custom conference idea is worthless for me if I can't go bring back traditional conferences like the Southwest and not give them an automatic spot.
