I just feel you can get all of the benefits of a sprint button without it. If you had to take your hand off the sprint button everytime you need to do something that dont include you going straight you would barely use it in the first place so it might as while go. It would be more of a problem then its worth.

Not difficult.

I agree with all of that. I think in the game there should be consequences for holding the sprint button in non-sprint situations. Changing direction, making moves, hanging on to the ball, even breaking tackles should all be less effective when holding the sprint button. Currently they don't seem to be.

Throne, I like the way you think my brother. Im late, as always, but get rid of it and make the ratings matter. I would only worry about players on D overrunning tackles.

I agree with all of that and would like to add something.
When ever you play someone with a fast wr, they will always send them on a fly route and hold down the sprint button to run up under it. Now how many wr you know that can run top speed while following the ball. So the fix should be that when the ball is in the air and you hold the turbo button, then the target where the ball is going to land should get a lot bigger, jump around, or just go away.

If you can do it all play with no kind of penalties why not just make it apart of the normal movement and free up a button? If a player can run in a straight line long enough he will(and should) reach top speed on his own. Player usually have a small burst and/or second gear that they time to get through holes or close out on tackles but there is entirely to much changing direction in football for players to be sprinting all play its just a silly idea by EA devs. to think this is a good idea to have this button.

Instead have it like most games the more you press the analog stick the faster that player moves. Have a button that gives players a quick burst only which helps them get to there top speed once your player is at top speed the burst will be useless. Any jukes, cuts ,or change in direction will have a negative effect on the speed your traveling base on a) the type of juke, cut ,or change of direction and b) that players ratings.

Until every rating counts and there concept of speed changes. Speed will give any player in unfair advantage. Some players like Jahvid Best are a rare combonation of speed and quickness and can cut ,juke ,and/or change directions with little effect on his speed while players like Trindon Holliday(even though his speed translate well to football) who are just speed guys and struggle to change direction and return to top speed as quickly.
Who runs around on turbo the whole game? If I have a real agile player, a guy who can really get going quick I may be more liberal on the the turbo but 99% of the time I use it when I need to. Ending the sprint button would dumb the game down big time. Maybe they just need to make it more of a penalty and they have to some degree with the whole sprinting while turning thing.

Absolutely awful idea...
