Minor details........

I've purchased every version of this series, even Bill Walsh College Football, but a few minor details seem to get over looked every year. First, why don't you have the option to perform an onside kick after a safety? If you want to be technical about it, you should have the option of a punt or a kickoff for free kicks. Secondly, where are the stat categories for Total Offense, All-Purpose Yards, and Scoring? The last thing is the CPU doesn't break any of it's individual game records during a simmed game. If for example you sim a game b/w Buffalo and Temple and the Buffalo QB throws for 600 yards, if you go into Buffalo's school records it wont show. The CPU only breaks individual school records vs users. These few things always seemed odd to me.

Re: Minor details........

Those are all valid questions in my opinion. Those are all kind of obscure things, so maybe they just didn't want to bother, but on the other hand maybe they just haven't really thought about it.

Well, for one, you cant onside kick after a safety. Meaning, you cant try to regain possession on your kick after a safety. But, i think your right about being able to free kick(punt) or use a tee. I honestly cant think of a time i've seen a team use a tee on the kick after a safety. I've always seen them punt it though.

Re: Minor details........

Considering that special teams are one third of college football i'd say that EA gets a big fat F for effort. One can say the exact same thing about Madden too.

I thought the same thing when I read his post, but I looked it up and you actually can onside kick after a safety:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onside_kick
"The [onside] kick must be a free kick (a kickoff or free kick after a safety, but not the rare fair catch kick)"

I agree with you though that you never see anyone use a tee after a safety. It seems like teams punt every time.

That couldn't be a rule, because what would they say if the team fumbles it on the return? Thats the same thing as a squib kick off a tee (Tee kicks are an option as well.)
I think they punt it because players can get it further/you can get more hangtime and a better coverage.

Anyways, ive always found the stat tracking to be a little off, not to mention the scale its governed by, i shouldnt have guys breaking individual records every year.
