Man, you learn something new everyday. I never realized the reason for teams having to wear white jerseys... hmm. I remember a thought way back when I was probably only around 4 being disappointed watching a high school game where the teams weren't in black and white like on television...dating myself a little here, huh?

I don't see a problem with the rule, especially in rivalry games or bowl games; however, from a traditional standpoint, your home jerseys are sacred, special. A team wearing their home darks on the road in regular season games doesn't seem right. But traditions are broken, so oh well.
