This is a serious question and not an attack on those who are buying the game.

There is a great amount of dissatisfaction in these and other forums about stuff like Season Showdown, lack of formation subs, the belief that gameplay has not been meaningfully addressed, missing cosmetics (dreads, etc.), poor representation of the battle in the trenches, broken option game, etc.

Despite this, it seems that the majority of people in this forum will buy this game anyway.

How would '10 (or '11 or any other future iteration of this game) have to turn out for you to not buy it?

Would you buy it if it were identical to 09 but with updated rosters?

What about if, say, you no longer had depth chart control?
etc etc.

IF you are buying this game, how would it have to look for you not to buy it?

I wouldn't buy it if pursuit angles weren't fixed.

There are three things I want fixed and two that sort of go together:

1) cpu passing attack must throw the ball deep and not so many ints (they say they fixed this)
2) cpu running game needs to be better (no word yet on this)
3) the sliders need to be more effective (jury is out but this ties into to #2 so I can fix the historically weak cpu ground game out of the box)

I'm buying. As long as the line play is more balanced and the sliders work a bit better, I will probably be happy.

Ineffective sliders...

give me those and I can "fix" most issues alla NHL 09....give us the dog**** you gave us last season? forget it, I'm out.

I just hope they don't overdo it (ala last-gen).

If they didn't have Fresno State's stadium in i probally would not buy (07 for 360). Other then that i will continue to buy the ncaa games for a long time

With everything I've heard, it looks like a buy this year, but unlike in the past, this time I'm waiting to see what people on this board say about the supposed, 'fixed' issues.

Honestly it would have to have no online dynasty and have terrible gameplay for me not to buy the game.
