I just watched the 3rd part of the Season Showdown video and as luck would have it, they showed more video of Nebraska and this one was with no user controlled DE....interesting comparison...



I can say that there is real potential with strategy settings...if they can ever get the DE and OT interaction right, then you could theoretically decide to have your ends play aggressive (rush the passer hard, explode off the ball and ignore the run), neutral (a little more aggressive than now, but wary of the run) or conservative (contain only, run first and not pass rush).

Now its true that we can accomplish this somewhat through defensive audibles now, but they are not as effectual as they could (or should) be... At any rate, DEVs (if you come across this thread) take a long look at the way the DEs attack the edges and see what can be done for passing plays

Im a DL guy when I play this game, so I have no issue with manually controlling the DE, if that is what needs to be done to get him to rush the way I want him to.

What concerns me though, is , it looks like I am going to have to assign the CPU controlled DE to spy every dang down, to prevent some clown from just waltzing right out to the opposite, every down.

Moose, do you have any impression as to how effective the DE's are in breaking blocks. IF they can, that will alleviate my concerns about guys just bailing out and scrambling with no rhyme or reason.
