So this idea is not past EA to do. Many developers already do it and most gamers these days should not be suprised by it.
Well that is great news. I would not mind either way. Multi disks or hard drive install, if it makes the game a whole lot better I am all for it.

I've never experienced a game with a download before you could play. How does that work? I assume when you pop in the disk the first time you are directed to a site online where you can then download the needed info. If this is correct then I can't really see anyone having a problem with that, except those without internet connected to their console.

My question is, would we be getting a better game if you were able to use the full disk space of the PS3, and not limited to the disk space of the 360?
I'm not saying NCAA is bad (I love it) I'm just curious how much better it could be if you weren't limited by the disk space?

Re: Has size been the limit?

I actually think in sports games the 360 holds us back mainly because of disc space.

If the PS3 were to come out before the 360 then we would be seeing totally different and better games.

I think your right, especially when you look at The Show, which is only on PS3. But I'ld like to hear the dev's thoughts, since I don't really know the first thing about making a video game.

From what Adam said about disk space only being an issue with audio and videos, it sounds like presentation is mainly what it being held back, but I wonder how much the gameplay, AI and those kind of things are also being held back. Based on Adam's comment it sound's like disk space doesn't matter too much with those parts of the game, but as I said I don't know anything about making a game.

Actually you'd be incorrect. Just because the space is there doesn't mean everything. The slow drive speed and the way the memory I configured are two reasons that the PS3 had to run at 30 FPS in 08 and then crowd detail was lowered so both could run at 60 FPS in 09. The PS3 also has a weaker GPU compared to the 360, but a more powerful and complex CPU. The PS3 isn't some machine that is leaps and bounds better than the 360 hardware wise, they each have stronger parts in certain areas.

Every little bit of disk space can be used to the teams advantage though I am sure. Whether is be commentary or other types of media, or it be features or art and design. I think it should definitely be something for the team to consider.
Adam do you think you could look into this for us?
