no he saying that they don't drop back in to coverage on passes usually

Good stuff.

Just want to add that I'd like to see offensive linemen use their arms more. They like 'em tall because that gives 'em wingspan they can use to keep the DL away from the QB. I never see linemen using their full wingspan in NCAA.

Thank you Orange.. I know lineman have pass rush responsibilities, but I'm saying they don't need to drop back and worry about coverage and things of that nature. So maybe I should clarify, all a lineman wants to do on a pass play is get to the quarterback, and therefore he doesn't have to worry about coverage and such...

The OP is spot on with this one.

I have to assume the animations for the line interaction must be difficult or they simply dont care about it because it has never been right.

Double teams, combo blocks, down blocks, etc. are all critical to the success of any offense yet they seem to be the last thing developers are concerned with.

Three of the major things we coach up our D-line about are pad level, feet, and hands. Simply put, you must be lower than your opponent or you will lose. You must never ever stop your feet or you have lost. You must always use your hands to your advantage.

There are many defensive schemes out there but all of them start by being gap sound. While it might not always appear that way there is someone assigned to control every gap against the run. With the abundance of spread offenses there is more importance put on getting after the passer but defenses are still gap sound for the run.
