Without this patch, the sliders won't even be effective. Not to mention the roster thing is a MAJOR issue. I have always defended NCAA, but I do it with common sense. This roster/slider thing is ridiculous. So yes it does need a patch.

There is already a patch needed and the game is still at least a week from being released.

the wrong version of the rosters were apparently loaded into the final build of the game. the correct one will be in the EA Locker ready to download on day 1. the patch will change the roster for online(non-online dynasty) games so that they will use the correct rosters.

For the 100 thread with the exact same topic, I will help you out. The roster file that was uploaded into teambuilder and the final disks is supposidely the wrong roster file. Many teams are missing key freshman and some have graduated seniors still on the team. A patch is needed to put the correct roster file onto your hard drive and make them playable in online mode. This is a basic rundown of the roster issue, but there are many more conspiracy theories floating around OS lately.

They're in the game, but they don't work. A patch is expected within the first couple weeks of release and rosters should be fixed with a download on launch day.
