Is there no way perhaps it was done to prevent selling of the rosters? So like all the jerks on ebay and what not charging for something that could be free don't get a dime and thus don't make money off of collegiate athletes names?

I am guessing not, since you would probably know, but perhaps something was done on a higher level to force people to use the lockers to share the files and thus not sell them. And while that would suck for those who cannot get on the web with their consoles perhaps EA figures the number of people who own these consoles and don't have them connected to the web is pretty small, even though there still are a few of you out there.

Just a potential reason behind the mayhem, I dunno.

Re: ATTENTION!! No Files can be copied!!

I dont think Sony had anything to do with this. Why would Sony's own MLB The Show be able to copy files? Maybe its because you have to purchase extra slots for team builder. When you create a team and download it it saves it as a team.
My first team was saved as team001 I think.Anyways I think they dont want us copying and sharing teams so we would HAVE to PURCHASE more slots.Thats why we cant copy files. Just my opinion though.

Let's hope it's not restricted. Otherwise there is no way people are going to be able get the rosters for PS2 unless everyone makes thier own. Guess I'll find out on Tuesday.

Here's another negative scenario that effects you if you can't copy files...

What if your PS3 goes on the fritz? Mine just did a few months ago. I sent it in to Sony and had to copy all of my files to a flashdrive so that I could install them on the refurbished one they sent back.

So if this were to happen to me after I had been playing NCAA 10 for a few months I would lose EVERYTHING, dynasty, rosters, draft classes, etc.? I would be livid.

Re: ATTENTION!! No Files can be copied!!

Hey everyone. OS is an awesome site, I read daily, but have never felt a need to post. I have a question tho that I'm hoping someone can help me with. This is bad news for me since I cant get online with my ps3 at home. I geuss Im going to name my own rosters, but Im wondering if it would be a waste to do so, since Im not going to be able to download the first patch to fix the roster problems Ive been hearing about, either. Im only planning on playing an offline dynasty, and I really want to have named rosters. If I name them myself will they work for an offline dynasty, or will I have the problems that are being patched on release day? thanks to anyone that can help.

The patch doesn't fix the inaccurate roster file, the patch fixes something to do with online play. The new roster EA is releasing tomorrow is just another roster file. So you should be fine if you name your own rosters that came with that game, sucks you have to do that, but that's the position EA has put us in. Hopefully Adam will have news about the copying problem tomorrow.
