Question Marks (?) in Play Diagram Screen?

When I go to display the play route which shows where each player will go and what controller button their mapped to, some of my players have an (?) over them instead of the (X), (Y), (B), or (A). Has anybody seen this and if so, any idea why it is showing? Is this some kind of setting I might have mistakenly selected? I only play offline games and this hasn't happened all the time.

are you the away team? if so its the home-field advantage thing. some icons will show a ? and the routes will show up in waves. the more composed you QB is, the less the effect is.

Wow...thank you. I never knew it would do that. You also answered a question I thought was just a bug for me about the wavy lines. Besides doing the above things, does homefield advantage do anything else since I may consider turning it off.
