Best defense to use online?

I use the 4-2-5 defense and it's effective against the pass but seems ineffective against the run. Anyone know a good D to use? I used to use multiple D but i found it to not really stop anything. LOL
I use FSU strictly if that helps...4-3 maybe?

I've heard a lot of people say that the 4-2-5 is actually the best run stopping defense. I used a 3-3-5 all last year in my offline dynasty and started with it this year. After being completely and totally gashed by the run against Wisconsin and Notre Dame I've switched. I also tried the 4-2-5 but, like you, I'm having trouble making it work. I'm trying the multiple D one now so I can use both 4-3 and 3-4, and it's working okay so far.

I believe it makes the LB's out of position for runs up the middle...and the safetys play up and get trucked almost all the time...

I control the mlb in a 3-3-5 and have been pretty successful. doesnt work real well against power run teams but most people online are pass first

you are 100% right, the 3-3-5 bear works pretty well up the middle, but leaves you exposed on the edges. Works best with teams that are set up to run a 3-4 D, line is better for stopping the run, and the LB's and DB's will get the pressure. I ran it with ND on my online dynasty and had the best ranked D, and allowed the fewest points. Went 12-0 but didn't get a chance at the national championship, Damn you USF and Texas!!!

i use multiple D, find it to be most effective in giving the offense different looks. the key to any defense tho is getting pressure off the edge. mix up your blitzes, make them uncomfortable in the pocket, hurry their throws, etc. this will make them turn to the running game which you can stop by crashing your d line, etc. etc.

I like using the one that stops the other one from scoring JMO, seriously the 3-2-6 is best for me online because of Tebow cheesers
