They are, in real life, pass protection calls - usually called by the center. But I have seen it work very well, in the game, on running plays as well. Which is kind of ironic because it does not work well at all, in the game, for pass protection. Maybe the programmers didn't quite understand what they were adding to the game or maybe it doesn't work as they intended.

Speaking of blocking... I wonder if we will see ZONE BLOCKING SCHEMES in future versions of this game???
