Recruiting for the West Coast Offense/USC Style

I usually run a pretty basic offense in most cases I use VA Tech and occasionally Georgia but I'm looking to rebuild UVA using the West Coast offense. Just wanted to know if anyone in the community could give me a break down on the type of recruit to target for each position.

Re: Recruiting for the West Coast Offense/USC Style

If you want to run an offence like USC, you'll want to recruit all types of running backs. If it's an offline dynasty (because some consider this cheesy) you may want to even recruit a WR with good speed and hands to have that running back to catch in the flats or run routes. I've found that a lot of the good, small, short receivers that are talented (6'1 170 .lbs speed guys) are about as close as you can get to some of the playmakers like USC brings in. A lot of the reason why USCs offence works so well is because they have so many targets in the passing game. Their receivers are always studs, their TEs can always make big plays and their backs help move chains on third downs.

Converting WRs to TEs will give you a better playmaker at TE in the receiving game but don't expect him to block much. What I do is use that as me #2 TE and never expect him to be blocking DEs or LBs. A lot of the routes USC uses like the quick hits EA haven't implemented which make this game frustrating for me because the screen passes are broken up wayyyy to easily. HB Screens are broken up by the one guy in man on your running back despite the three linemen infront of him blocking NOBODY. It's tough but very possible. If you want to get a lot of your backs involved like SC does, then set your Subs for RBs to be replaced when under 90 Stamina. Hope I helped!!
