Sound about right, note to kids major in something that has a future. At worst the roster makers will have to do some work. EA can't be held liable for what other people do. They could be held liable for using a players #, height, weight, hometown, ect.... But I see this thing getting tossed out.

Zero chance and I mean zero of him winning. If EA went into detail like eye color, blood type, etc he could probably win, but skin color and hair color, handness(is that a word?) and # you can't win. I mean on any type of identification does it ask which hand you prefer to use?

OK what I dont understand is this. What happens when SI has Mark Ingram on their cover? Are they not making money off the players likeness and name ? Why are they not being sued?

The press is treated differently. They are allowed to use names and pictures if it is for newsworthy purposes.

Re: Will Ed Obannon and others ruin named rosters in the future

I think alot of people are missing th point. The NCAA are allowed to make millions selling player likeness with jerseys etc. Yet the student athlete cant even get a job. I couldnt even by my best friend a burger if I graduated from the same school he attended. Please tell me you'd buy a Florida #15 jersey if it didnt represent Tebow.

In this case like Sam Keller you can tell they are desparate for money but theres also no way they could bring this up while in school. Stop thinking about your rosters and think about human rights. The NCAA is getting over and we all know it. They can sale exclusive rights to video game companies yet players dont get a dime. Yes they get a free education but is it really free? All the work they have to put in? Its a damn job! Pressue is off the charts also.

well as far as rosters go there is no need in worrying if a player is black or white or anything close to how they should play. so the community rosters will be working overtime to get things rite

I would much rather be student athlete than just a student. Practice is hard work I agree, but I would much rather practice and lift than work at wendys or walmart 40-50hours a week to get by in college. I mean yeah all those jerseys Tebow sells in college he doesnt get money, but that makes him a marketing beacon when he does leave getting him more contracts making him x10 what the NCAA made I doubt he is going to miss it.

I bet we're not too far away from players being a different race than they are in real life, just to qwell any licensing issues.
