Who do you use on Defense and why?

I am just wondering cause I normally use a DE and I am not all that successful at it. Wondering what you guys do and what reasons.

I normally use the strong safety. I like the chance to make tackles and also make plays in the pass games. But most of the time the safeties are out of position in the coverage so I like to put them in the right position to make the play.

FS 3rd/4th Long


FS is easily the hardest to work.

I usually use the MLB, OLB if i shift my Lb's to keep outside containment, and the short side safety if I'm getting burnt outside. Hopefully locomotion changes all this and I can go back to being just a LB.

DE or someone who is blitzing, I like to control the pass rush/run game and let the CPU handle the coverage, although lately it seems like I'm a corner/safety more often because the ai can get really dumb.

I control the FS. I usually run man 2 or man 1 so the FS can roam the field. I make a lot of tackles at the line and can make a few plays in the passing game as well.

I do that a lot too. But its so hard to make a play on the ball in the air for a number of reasons, again hopefully with the new changes we will be able to have total control like back in the good ole days.
