I've never done one before, but I want to do it in 2011. Here are a few questions i have:

Do all the gamers have to be in the same conference?
Do you play CPU games?
What happens if you dont get to play games? Do they simulate your game?

I've played in a couple OD in the past... most people pick a conference for their OD, but it doesn't mean you have to. You could have 12 players in all different conferences w/ the hope of two meeting for a NC. Most are in one, but not all...

Yes, you play games against CPU. If you take too long it tends put people off and you may be removed from the league.

With the new addition of One Bowl Week they are hoping to fix what has previously been a big problem for a lot of OD's. Now all teams {Human} will play their bowl games in "one week" w/ out having to wait for others to play their bowl games first.

If you are going to be the comissioner of an OD its best to set a schedule for everyone to agree on. I suggest at least 3 games a week so the season progresses at a decent pace. And just let people know that once the deadline is up then you'll be simulating the week regardless. You will have the responsibility to keep the season running smoothly and swiftly to keep from having people lose interest and having the OD come to an end way to soon.
