Accelerated Clock (Help me understand please)

Can someone break this down for me? For some reason, I am failing to see how the clock will actually work this year.

quoted by traditionfootball E3:

"Accelerated clock is once again in the game doubling as chew the clock. This is also now accessible from the strategy menu where you can go with a normal tempo or up tempo or slower tempo (chew clock). In my opinion this isn’t a true accelerated clock because it takes too much off the play clock"

Re: Accelerated Clock (Help me understand please)

Instead of how Madden will always run off a certain amount of time in NCAA it's a fluid gameplay feature. Apparently player stamina will change based on the tempo of the offense, if you have an option team they won't get as tired as a pro team running the up tempo no huddle.

I think it will mean you can and should change tempo mid drive to wear out the defense or give your players a rest.

The problem with it compared to Madden is it's harder to get a correct amount of plays run. In Madden you can play 14-15 min quarters with 25 sec acc. clock and get realistic stats to the best of it's old engine's capability.

But if you or the computer is changing the tempo you might end up with more plays run than an average game and that will take away from the experience.

The real question is: is the CPU forced to "chew the clock" as well? If not, I'm assuming we'll continue see the CPU run 10-play one and a half minute drives. This may not mean much to some, but this is a dealkiller for me.
