After playing many more games tonight, there is one aspect of the demo that has been incredibly excited: I'm LOVING playing defense again! In '10, I ended up just Super Sim'ing the defense all the time. However, I'm finding playing the DL SOOOO fun in the demo, _especially_ Clemson's LE. What a beast!

I'm ecstatic that I'll finally be able to enjoy playing defense again .

My biggest complaint with defense is that your AI player become ******** on Heisman. Bad angles, no one can get off a block to save their life, and very poor tackling. Jeff Demps should not be breaking any tackles. Slipping tackles yes, breaking them... no.

i know everyone is saying the defense is fine but there are still some things i would like to see done to improve.

hook zones on the hash marks need to be redone because currently the players always drift to the middle of the field regardless or where the wide receivers are.

shallow zones should be more aggressive in coming up to stop the zone or drifting back to protect against the pass. hell if they would move up to cover the running back that would be nice too. i just want them to do something besides stand there on the far side of the field...

terminology should be addressed. it would be nice if linebackers would function around a more strong, weak concept instead of rolb and lolb, and it would be even better if they would automatically line up facing the correct side of the offense

it would be nice if the computer would take a couple extra seconds before snapping the ball for the vast majority of non no-huddle offenses so that the player could have more time to manage the defense and make corrections.

generally slightly better coverage from linebackers on blocking tight ends would be a nice change though its ok as is.

finally, i havn't noticed to many of these plays but i would like more customization in being able to roll coverages behind blitzing players to change up where the quarterbacks hot read would be so its not so damn easy figuring out where to pass

edit: random side note: i never actually played a previous version of the game with formation subs but in the final version of the game when i set up defensive formation subs will i be able to set the subs and give the formation a new name so i can still call up the original on defense? if not i feel that would be a really cool addition
say having 4-3 under with 3 linbackers in addition to the same formation subed to arizona's cheetah with 4 defensive ends and all defensive backs or numerous defensive backs (4-3 under)

Heisman is crazy. Mediocre QBs tear zones apart and WRs break open too easy. I wasn't seeing those problems on Varsity or All American. The only problem is those levels are too easy.

THIS!!!!!! I love the defense this year. Its nasty... To the OP there really is only a few ways to play defense most schemes are copied from team to team. While offenses are dynamic. trying to fill holes in said defenses.

Pass rush IS wayyyy too weak. Pancakes happen too often. Blocking interactions end up as 5 second stalemates way too often. D-linemen get no push whatsoever.

This is the one thing about the game that consistently bothers me. The rest of the defense seems fine for the most part.
