Re: Spring Game?

How do players progress on next gen with NCAA in the past?

Is there training?

Do they improve/progress during the season based on performance?

Is there a period in the off-season called "player progression"?

Re: Spring Game?

In my perfect NCAA world (which will never happen) they would add some ambiguity to the displayed ratings for players. Then a spring game would be necessary to figure out who is the better player. Obviously actual precise ratings would exist behind the scenes but you wouldn't know what they were exactly, maybe you would see your players in tiers rather than number ratings. You may have lost your starting QB to graduation last year, and going into this year you have 2 QB's that are in the "B" tier for example, but behind the scenes one is 89 the other is 80, you'd need to figure out which one is better through a spring game, and maybe into the regular season.

Coaches in real football have an idea of the quality of their players and where they stand in relation to each other, but they don't have it exact, they have to figure it out, and sometimes it turns out they had a potential star sitting for 2 years behind a mediocre player.

But with the recent choice of even exposing the recruiting interest in a set number, I doubt we'll ever see this.
