You must have a different version, mine definitely doesn't have that.

All I can do is sub kickers, punters, long snappers, and return men.

Unless, of course, you're talking about going to the specific formation sub menu which I never used for special teams because I assumed there wasn't anything for ST. No reason to think there would be formation subs for ST when you only have one formation.

Re: Formation Subs: How will you utilize it?

Here are some of the ways that I'll use formation subs.

Get my starters off of special teams. In '10 your starting MLB is on punt coverage and your #2 MLB (who's a starter for 3-4 teams) is on kick coverage. This is really, really stupid.

Get my offensive guys off of kick/punt coverage and just have defensive subs there.

Give my #2 and #3 HBs certain formations so they get some P.T. and can give my starter a blow.

Put my fastest and/or best ACC WR in the spot that runs WR motion options/jet sweeps/slot options. I'll run a lot of those.

Put some back up D-linemen in certain formations that'll be for pass downs only.

Put #6/7/8 WRs in 1 or 2 formations. This is because I'll be using the no huddle all the time which exhausts WRs. When you run out of WRs on your 6 man depth chart, the computer stupidly puts in CBs instead of your #7+ WRs. When I see that I'm getting CBs subbed onto offense, I'll call this formation with my #7/8 WRs to avoid CBs running routes and dropping passes.

I'll be running with Michigan so I'll likely have some formations for Forcier and some for Robinson.

That's exactly what I was talking about(and isn't it the topic of this thread?)

The special teams formation subs were a sub menu just like offense and defense

If so, that's huge, because in real life this is when the backups and freshmen get experience. Even guys that are redshirting can be on special teams and it won't count against their RS (in real life).
In the demo, you can set special teams formation subs.

Yes, it does. I probably wouldn't play true freshmen on special teams and waste a RS year, but I'd play those who had already used an RS for experience.

Well there we go, that's our confirmation. I figured as much, I just hadn't messed with that in the demo.

As a matter of fact, it is the topic of this thread. Good observation.

My point was that I never looked to see if there even was a formation sub option for special teams. I was saying that I never thought there was because there is only one formation for special teams which means all substitutions should be handled from the regular depth chart screen, IMO.

Either way, I'll definitely utilize form. subs for special teams on NCAA 11 if they are there.

Good find.

Re: Formation Subs: How will you utilize it?

Does anyone feel brave enough to create a formation package that features all DBacks instead of having any linebackers? Call it the Fitty-Cent package? lol, jk Nickel, Dime, can't call it quarter because of quarters coverage.
