***Team's Pass/Run Ratio***

Using 2009 data from ESPN, this is to help set team's playbook pass/run ratio to mimmick (as much as possible) what team's do in real life.

Note
For those schools with new coach's, you can just use the % from the coach's last school.
(Run = 100% - Pass Ratio)

These stats are a little misleading. The % is how many yards of the team total yards were pass yards, not how much % they passed the ball.

I think you don't understand run/pass ratio. It is not based on how many yards were achieved. It's based upon percentage of pass plays called/ran vs running plays called/ran.

its how much they run vs how much they pass if a team is 60 pass 40 run

it means they pass 60% of the time and run the other 40...this does not mean they are successful just that they will attempt.

Exactly. And that's not what these stats reflect. These stats have what percentage the pass yards are of their total yards, NOT how much they will pass. So that's why these stats are wrong from what you'd enter into the game. They are not the same thing.

So perhaps it's you that doesn't understand, since these stats in the .pdf file are showing what % of total yards are pass yards, which is NOT the same thing as pass ratio vs run ratio.

passing attempts and rushing attempts, then you need to subtract the number of sacks from the rushing attempts and add them to the passing attempts. thats how you get the truest percentage short of actually watching each play of the season
