Re: QB running backward: Maybe stupid but...

I am just praying a Dev reads this and I am right. Its fixed quickly and doesn't happen much longer. Probably the single biggest annoyance in the game right now, at least for me. I am scared to death to run play action until I am up by at least a couple of scores (which isn't real often right now).

Re: QB running backward: Maybe stupid but...

I think that could very well be possible. If it's spelled wrong, and the system is looking for something with the right spelling, it could be messing up because of that.

Re: QB running backward: Maybe stupid but...

The spelling might be an issue. What I did to sort of solve the issue for me.
I hot route to the Tight End and had him block instead of going out for a
pass. I tried this on in the practice field and the QB did the hand-off
animation and he only went back maybe 10 yards instead of the 30 yards.
Now I only had the offense on the field not the defense. Right now I just
don't even call the play during a game. Also maybe the devs can just remove
that play entirely from the playbooks until its fixed. Any ideas would be great
guys. Thanks

It appears to be only the play action bootleg screen play which is in mutiple formations that is messed up. All the other play action plays seem to be fine, I wouldn't be afraid of running them.

maybe the devs couldn't fix the bug in the first patch but they changed the names of the play to help you identify which plays were corrupted. things that make you go hmmmmmm. Of course, unless they were misspelled on the demo as well, then I'm out of guesses.

This. I can't see how the name would affect the scripting of the X's and O's. The play name is probably just a display name -- the "real play" is probably an ID number tied to a script.

Besides, in Idaho's playbook there are a bunch of PA Boot Screens that are spelled just fine but are glitched when you try to run them.

This is really my point exactly. I understand where you are coming from but let's say that the name of BOOT is also messed up in the stuff we don't see. I mean BOOT or BOOTT is what we see. The program surely has some reference wether the name or a code that is associated with the name. Say the name of the BOOT or BOOTT is also messed up in the layer we don't see. It could as easy be 010101010101 and supposed to be 100101010101.
I just think that if the name of the play displayed is Boott, there is a high probability that in the coding of that type of play there lies a similar and equally corrupt reference that unlike a human deciphering that Boott means Boot, the program looks and gets stuck trying to decide what the QB is supposed to do.

Boot? Boott. No keep running. Boot? Boott. No keep running. Boot? Boott. No keep running.
Boot? BOOT!!!! There it is! Okay turn and look for a reciever.

I am sure they will get it fixed, or have hundreds of thousands of pee'd of customers. Let's hope its quick.
