CPU triple option teams not being effective

In the games I have played so far against Georgia Tech and Navy the CPU has been inept at moving the ball even against lower rated defenses. Right now I am playing GT as Baylor who is only a C on defense. At half the CPU has 29 total yards, one first down and 22 yards rushing.

Something I have noticed is the CPU seems to be very poor at making the correct read. Three or four times the CPU has held onto the ball with Nesbitt instead of handing off to the FB, when the end linebacker or defensive end has stayed home. Each time there was huge hole if the FB would have got the ball instead.

This was on All American with both the rb ability rating and run blocking sliders for the CPU raised to 60, as well as human rush defense at 35.

Yeah, poor Georgia TEch didn't even have a chance when they played my mighty Virginia team in Dynasty mode....

Re: CPU triple option teams not being effective

I saw my first ever CPU FB dive TD on the option go for a 60+ yards against GT. The FB took the dive on the triple option, broke through DT and MLB tackle attempts and he was gone.

It's the first time I've even seen a FB dive play in all versions of Madden or NCAA go for a TD that long.

I'd be curious to see if this happens on Heisman, or if there are edits that can be made to increase the CPU's ability to run the triple option.

I actually played Navy last night (I was Michigan), and I pretty much shut down their running game. They had about 10 yards at the half, I think, and I was playing on All-American.

They somehow managed to grab about 200 yards on less than a dozen passing plays, though. I was impressed by that - they actually threw the ball a few times once the run didn't seem to be working.

I would add the CPU QB also seems way too reluctant to pitch the ball. I have seen a number of plays where there was a ton of open space for the rb if they would have pitched it.

Dude,

It's that stout Baylor D. ;-)

Ok, maybe not... You might have a point.

The problem I have (at least with past NCAA games) is to combat this you up the CPU RA and RB and then they are too powerful. I could never find a sweet spot.
