Can anyone stop the run?

I played Bama, Wisconsin, and then Ohio St. today online and honestly could never stop the run.
Tried 3-4, 335, 4-3, bear which worked some but not really... The Wisconsin guy ran EVERY single play, nothing I could do to stop it. All from under center. They would get like 8 yards a pop no matter what.
I was Boise, NC St then Oregon st., got trampled every game, so basically, what defensive set works best at stopping the run from under center?

I am OK up the center. I get crushed on the outsides because my guys all get sealed off. For up the middle I stunt the LB's in a nickel or use a 4-3 and blitz one LB. I play the LE and try to pull the O Tackle away so it's 5 on 4.
