3-3-5 Breakdown

Does anyone know the break down of whose on the field in game for a 3-3-5? Is it 3 CBS and 2S or 3S, 2 CB etc. I'm editing my Aztecs who use the 3-3-5 and trying to set the depth chart. The position in SDSU terms they use for the 5 DB's are 2 CBs, 2 Warriors and 1 Aztec. I'm trying to set the "Aztec and Warrior" positions but I have to see which spots to set them in. Thanks for the help!

Re: 3-3-5 Breakdown

3-3-5 consists of 3 D-lineman, 3-Linebackers, 3-Corner backs, 2-Safeties

Thank you, it makes it hard because the Aztecs don't use that for the real positions. The "Aztec" position is like a roaming LB and the person who is playing that this year (Andrew Preston) was a LOLB last season, i guess i have to insert him as the starting FS and make the FS the 3rd CB in the depth chart?

This is wrong. The 3-3-5 has two Corners and three Safeties. The third safety on the field will be your second string SS in your depth chart.

The Nickel 3-3-5 has 3 Corners and two Safeties.

Thank you for that clarification. I think I got it now

Re: 3-3-5 Breakdown

Yeah, the Michigan guy is right. 3-3-5 has 3 safeties. WVU uses it and has a free safety, spur safety, and bandit safety. The spur safety is more of a safety/LB tweener. I'm not sure how other teams do it, but 3 CB, 2 S is definitely just the nickel formation (although you could have a safety play as the nickel corner).
