Re: ANYBODY ELSE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH STOPPING THE CPU PASSING GAME??

I too am having trouble stopping the pass (although i return the favor to the computer when I am on offense).

I play on heisman and it seems like the CPU scores every time and can easily move the ball. If i can get 1 or 2 stops a game i win, otherwise i cant make any mistakes on offense.

Any tips from you guys that arent having this problem?

I have tried man, zone, blitz, audibles, it seems like everything.

Re: ANYBODY ELSE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH STOPPING THE CPU PASSING GAME??

If Heisman is anything like past games I've played (similar to All-Madden in the pro series) then I don't see myself getting into it. Instead of the computer playing smarter (better playcalling and strategy) it just cheeses the hell out of you. Their talent goes through the roof, and your players become mentally defective. No thanks.

Is it the same thing this year, or is it actually semi-realistic?

I look at alot of slant routes, streaks with the tight end or inside slot (the defense will often leave him open right off the snap), also an outside streak if my receiver is 1vs1 with the DB will sometimes get a break and the DB slips.

I also notice the HB screens are somewhat effective.

I just cant stop the CPU offenses. running or passing!!!!

As is the case with every version of these games, sliders are usually a must. Even if it feels great out of the box, you get better.

If you can find a good set, passing should feel just right. I have to sacrifice some animated realism to get good numbers on All-American (my pass coverage is turned down a bit, and there are times when my DBs break in the complete wrong direction) but it keeps the games close, relative to who I'm playing.

Personal play style as well contributes. I get torched by the CPU when they run the no huddle. I don't know what it is but as soon as the sprint up to the line after that first completion I know I'm in for a long drive. Maybe it's just my aggressive play-calling and stick skills. I'll blitz a guy too many or simply over pursue.

But I like that in this year's game. Before, it came down to where I HAD to bump up to Heisman with sliders for a challenge, but if something went against me I just felt exploited, no outplayed. With NCAA 11, I feel like I'm in control. And if the CPU is hitting deep passes on me, I can clearly tell I simply couldn't time the swat right, or the ball was underthrown slightly and I couldn't adjust (damn you locomotion!).

You just have to keep your playcalling in check. Blitzing isn't going to do any good on 2nd and short and the QB can do a quick dump for the first down. Rushing three on 3rd and long is just begging to get torn apart, regardless of how many guys you drop into coverage.

What mode do you play on?

I'm playing AA, and the computer has scored two touchdowns in seven games against me. I think stopping the run is easier than stopping the pass, especially against option and spread teams. Last time I played Utah, I think their starting halfback had 18 rushing yards against me.
