Yeah it's always a fumble if the ball isn't going forward.

You would think this would be as obvious (if not moreso) than "don't throw into coverage." Now, real interceptions are going to happen either way. Sometimes you don't see a safety, sometimes a Dback makes a great play, and as the QB, you're trying to scan the whole field, so it's easy to misread coverage. But on a pitch... imagine if on a pass play you only had ONE receiver. He was either open or not. If he's wide open throw, if not, don't. Same rule applies to running the option.

In junior high a little runt on our team bursted through the oline and literally took the handoff out of the qb's hands before the running back got to it on a dive play, to this day one of the coolest plays I've seen, even if it was junior high.
ROFL. This sounds epik.

Re: Intercepted Option pitches

I guess for all the picks I throw, it's totally understandable I would get picked on an option. But I managed to pick off an option from the CPU. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. Thanks for the feedback.

There was a game a year or two ago where Colorado stole Nebraska's pitch on a fake field goal and took it for a TD. Is that what you were thinking of?
