getting murdered in the middle of the field.

So how do I stop it..? What defense is good for that.
I can hold the deeper patterns in check, then next thing I know I have guys darting across the middle and QB hits em for a first down...frustrating as hell.

Re: getting murdered in the middle of the field.

Pick something with at least 3 yellow zones. There are a couple of cover 2 plays that have 4 or 5 of them, and its very hard to throw intermediate passes against that.

I heard man to man is best for coverage because zone coverage sucks big in this game

Re: getting murdered in the middle of the field.

When you say "middle of the field", do you mean the little checkdowns and stick routes at like 6-7 yards that seem to always hit just under the zone and result in a first down? If so, I found that changing my gameplan to "aggressive" takes this away and results in a lot of sacks.

If you are talking about the intermediate routes, like those skinny posts at around 12 yards then you might want to try using your coverage audibles to get your safeties to shade towards the middle of the field. And if it's the slot receiver that's killing you then use your spotlight.
